The camera fades in on WWG studios, where Jim Baker and Machine Gun Joe Navaro are seen at the broadcast table. Baker, the fat Texan with a pasty face and retro Leisure suit, hovers over the mike as Machine gun Joe looks bored. Machine Gun had been in Atlantic City the night before, just got back in New York for three in the morning and was before the camera at eight, It he was feeling drained it was understandable. The red tally light on the camera flickered for a moment, the studio falling into a hush as Bakers eyes went wide. A moment of silence as the director fingered the countdown, then the music to WWG Update kicked in. It was time for business. The show was back, and so was the WWG.
Baker was the first to speak.
Baker
Ladies and gentlemen, last night the WWG returned to action at Harvin's arena on the Atlantic City boardwalk. There had been quite a layoff, but it looks like the WWG fans crawled out from the woodwork to catch this show--and it didn't disappoint.
Navaro
Sure didn't. I was curious how many people were actually going to show up. I know Martin Frisconelli can be a penny pincher from time to time, so I was curious if he was actually going to open that wallet, watch a few months fly out and spend some money to get the word out that we had a show on. Well, he did and the WWG Universe got the word. We got us some new champions.
Baker
Indeed we do. Let's get down to discussing the card. First off, the opening match where former WWG world Champion Pyro took on Demetrious Young.
Navaro grimaced, recoiling at the mention of Young's name.
Navarro
Yeah, personally this match was a bit of a surprise. You have a guy in Pyro who's held just about every belt the WWG has to offer, taking on a career slacker in Demetrious Young--or the Hurricane or whatever he wants to call himself these days--and I'm expecting that Pyro is going to ram Young's teeth down his throat. To be honest--I was looking forward to seeing a few of those pearly whites flying down by the broadcast table.
Baker
Why's what? You have something against Demetrious Young?
Navarro shrugged.
Navarro
He's just annoying--and he always seems to be awash with hot chicks. That Giada number who hangs around with him all the time. The hot ladies in the audience that seem to flock to him so much. He annoys me.
Baker
Well, evidently he annoyed Pyro as well. They went at it from the opening bell. It was a classic example of a diversion in styles. You have Pyro, a powerhouse if ever there was one, taking on the much quicker Demetrious Young. I think Pyro got frustrated. Young was catching him off balance a lot, beating him to the punch.
Navarro
It looked like Pyro got blown up. He went after Young, chased him around the ring for a good ten minutes or so, then ended up getting himself DQ'd when he waffled Young over the head with a steel chair. Now, keep in mind that the referee at the time was on the mat, down courtesy of a collission with Pyro--so he really couldn't see Pyro going for the chair.
Baker
Yeah, but the second referee coming in from the back did. Demetrious Young advances to round two--which did not sit well with Pyro.
Navarro
Yeah. I just wish to got in a few more shots with that chair once he got DQ'd. He just stormed out of the arena.
Baker
So we go to the second match in the tournament. RockerLobster vs Jason Hughes.
Navarro again grimaces.
Navarro
Now this is getting annoying. I mean, I don't like Demetrious Young at all, but frigging RockerLobster is someone I absolutely can not stand--pretty much for all the same reasons as I don't like Demetrious Young--just compounded by the fact he has a really stupid name and annoying gimmic. Electric Bang my...
Baker
Anyway, it was a hell of a match. Scheduled for thirty minutes these two came to fight.
You have Hughes, who is a bit of a mystery because he's never been in a WWG ring before, taking on Lobster, who is a much more known commodity.
Navarro
Don't you mean Oddity?
Baker
Anyway, from the first bell this match was really intense, both men going move for move, counter for counter. I think Hughes had clearly scouted Lobster. He was ready for anything his opponent threw at him, and Lobster had more than enough experience to take on a guy like Hughes, an enigma in the ring.
Navarro
You know Hughes trained with Tristen Striker--a guy familiar with RockerLobster?
Baker
Yeah, I'm aware of that.
Navaro
Anyway, thirty minute match turns to a thirty minute draw. Both men still standing when the bell rings. Houston--we have a problem.
Baker
Indeed we do. As expected, Frisco's music hits and he comes down the ramp--been a while since I've seen than entrance.
Navarro
Not long enough.
Baker
Frisco makes the main event a fatal fourway, allowing both Hughes and Lobster to continue their fight into the main event.
Navarro
Should have just eliminated both of them. At least it would have spared me from watching Lobsters entrance twice in the same night.
Baker
Third match. Todd Williams takes on Mr. 187.
Navarro
Can you say clusterf...
Baker
Ahem! Yeah. There has been some bad blood between these two for a long time. Both long time WWG guys, Williams a former WWG champion--always at odds with 187's best friend and tag team partner Pyro. These two didn't even wait for the bell to ring, at least Killa 187didn't. He went after T Will the second he crowd surfed his way to the ring. Attacking him as he tried to get in and this one went out into the audience.
Navarro
Yeah, I think they're probably still beating each others brains out on the craps table at Caeser's Palace. Suffice to say, double count out. Your buddies music hits again.
Baker
Yep. Frisco comes down, lets the fans know the main event is back to a triple threat. It will be Demetrious Young vs Jason Hughes vs RockerLobster for the WWG world Championship.
Navarro
Why didn't Frisco just include Williams and 187, make it a frisky five instead of a fatal fourway?
Baker
Probably because they both lost. They were both counted out.
Navarro
Well Hughes and Lobster both lost as well. No one really won that match.
Baker
Well, evidently that's not the way the CEO saw things. The main event was set. Lobster vs Hughes vs Young.
Navarro
Which brings us to your favorite match--the ladies ladder match for the WWG Woman's championship. You get Lana Holmes, Crystal Hilton, Candace and Sarah Richardson all going for one belt--suspended over the ring.
Baker
Classic money in the bank set up. The belt is hanging, and the first person who grabs it wins it. As expected, this was a pretty intense match. I was a little surprised at some of the bumps these ladies took.
Navarro
Well, its a ladder match and those are always wild events. You add in the fact that both Crystal and Candace have held that belt before and you add a lot of incentive. Through in the hunger that Lana Holmes has--she really wants to be champ--and you get pretty much the recipe for chaos.
Baker
Don't forget Sarah Richardson--she's pretty sadistic in there.
Navaro
End of the night, the monkey won.
Baker
Monkey?
Navarro
The human spot monkey. It looked like Lana Holmes or Crystal Hilton were going to get the title--probably closest was Lana Holmes, but Sarah Richardson pushes the ladder down and Lana and Crystal go spilling onto the arena floor. Richardson sets up a ladder, but Candace comes out of nowhere and drop kicks Sarah face first into it. She then runs up the ladder and steals the belt like a thief in the night.
Baker
I wouldn't go that far. I mean she's supposed to climb the ladder and get the belt.
Navarro
I didn't like the way it ended. I felt for sure Lana or Crystal would be champion today. At least if Richardson won it it would have been because she made a spectacular move and toppled the ladder, but for Candace to hit a cheap drop kick and just run up and steal it--very anticlimactic!
Baker shrugs.
Baker
Well, regardless we have our first champion--Candace is the new WWG Woman's champion.
Navarro
Bah! Lets get on with the real business. The main event. Triple threat for the WWG championship.
Baker
The bell rings at just about ten at night. Hughes, Lobster and Young all in the ring. This was a train wreck from the start. I don't see how you get one referee to handle a match of this nature. As expected, you're buddies much hits.
Navarro
Yeah. Frisco again comes sauntering down the ring. I think he enjoys this crap too much. Loves making a spectacle of himself. Anyway, what does he go and do? Makes Mike the Hammer Hilton a special guest referee. Has Hilton ever refereed anything before?
BakerWell, he wanted law and order in the ring, and the Hammer is his enforcer.
Navarro
Yeah, they got this guy to step away from the all day buffet at the Tropicana. Big accomplishment.
Baker
anyway, pretty wild match. I think Hughes was doing well in the beginning, then it seemed Lobster and Young opted to double team him, both beating him down, trying to make it a one on one match.
Navarro
Which never really works, because it wasn't long before Young got a cheap shot in on the Lobster--which I actually enjoyed a lot.
Baker
Not a cheap shot. It's a triple threat elimination match, every man for himself. Besides, it lead to Jason Hughes sneaking up and rolling up Young for a pinfall.
Navarro
So were down to a one on one, Lobster vs Jason Hughes. It was a damn close match--for all three men really--but at the end, only one is standing.
Baker
Yeah, you're favorite.
Navarro shakes his head.
Baker
I don't know how I'm going to deal with the RockerLobster era. Rocker Lobster beats Jason Hughes. New WWG World champion.
Navarro
So we have RockerLobster and the human spot monkey Candace to represent us? Can we do this all over again? I'm not happy with the results.
Baker
Afraid not. Anyway we should have some news shortly on our next big card, so for Machine Gun Joe Navarro, I'm Jim Baker and you're watching WWG Spotlight. We'll see you next week.
The camera fades to black, the WWG logo flashing on the screen as the familiar Spotlight music again begins to play.

Thanks to everyone who rped for the show. I had hoped to get posted on Friday, but my work schedule didn't oblidge so I could get it written until last night. The matches were pretty hard to call--especially the main event, which was really quite close and could have gone either way. Feel free to comment on this, good or bad, and hopefully we can pick up where we left off on the upcoming episode of WWG WARZONE.

I'll sticky the thread since I'm still mod for some reason (hey, Ran is still a super mod so...).
