Backstage News on Barrett's WWE Future and MITB at SummerSlam

- WWE officials are hoping that Wade Barrett will be back in action by July so they can feature him prominently at SummerSlam.

Before Barrett went down with an injury, he was scheduled to win Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 28 and challenge CM Punk for the WWE Title.

The Money in the Bank match may be moved to SummerSlam this year just so Barrett can win it and begin the push, feuding with CM Punk for the WWE Title going into the fall.

Is the creative team that dense?

There are several other stars they could build with the Money in the Bank match. I mean, there are countless guys on the brink of superstardom that are going to just be moved to the side because they want Barrett to win this particular match.

That makes zero sense, and yes, you can expect that from the WWE. Any booker, which I guess no longer applies to WWE, would put Barrett in a series of matches to get momentum going, and then put him over, allowing a credible World Title series. Instead.. We get Money in the Bank...

Is MITB seriously the only way WWE can push a guy now?

It cheapens it and leaves the first time title holders victory highly unmemorable. For a guy like Wade Barret who has been deprived of winning the big one for so long you would think WWE would try something different and make the title victory something special and unique. Instead the writers are as lazy as fuck and want to 'shock' us just for the sake of 'shocking'.

If they are thinking of going the route of putting it off until SummerSlam for him to win I think its stupid. Why don't they just have a face win it at the MITB PPV and then have Wade return, attack the face and feud with him over the case. We've never seen a feud over the case so it'd be interesting to see one change hands. I know it's been done with Edge taking Mr.Kennedys one but it wasn't really a feud.
