I tried SvR'08 again today....

yea, I changed just about everybody from Showman. I hated that every time they got special they immediately went for my special. in the actual WWE it was just Rock and Austin doing each other moves mainly, now everybody who's Showman in SvR'08 WILL do their opp's special regardless. Showman will not do their own special. so I just disregarded from everybody. Kennedy can't be considered Showman in SvR'08 because I don't think he's ever stolen another finisher....

again, I was about to get more upset when I lost a match due to the retarded auto focus. in a rematch I had before when I was playing as HHH vs Umaga vs Kennedy vs Dreamer. I was out side of the ring whooping Kennedy's ass, while on the inside of the ring, I guess Umaga was whooping on Dreamer because when I saw Umaga go for a pin, I rushed in. Kennedy's still laid out on the ground outside. I'm now in the ring next to the ref and Umaga pinning Dreamer. I had a weapon and I swong it, not knowing who I was looking at I ended up hitting the red, LOL. that made me feel a little better. the whole time I don't think I could even look at Umaga or Dreamer even though I was standing over them as Umaga was still on top of Dreamer, pinning him. for some reason I was still looking at Kennedy. I climbed back out of the ring and knocked Kennedy back down just as he was getting up. I continued to whoop on him, while Umaga was STILL on top of Dreamer. it seemed a little gay at this point. but guess what? the ref finally comes to, and proceeds to count. I get back in the ring and I can't focus on anybody inside the ring to break up the count. I'm still looking at Kennedy outside the ring. just like that I'm standing next to the 1-2-3-count, and it's over.

that's unbelievable...I quit and turned the game off then...

I forgot to mention this. You can actually use the possum pin (as a high flyer) to counter top rope moves. One of my caws scored a pinfall doing that during a battle royal. It looked like he raised his knees up, then rolled his opponent into a small package. It was definitely a possum pin, he had one saved and it was gone after that. The announcers also called it, but uh... We all know how reliable they can be.

Uhm, I guess you just told everything one should know about the dumbest thing Cory and his guys have done. I still don't get it, WHY in the bluest of all hells they decided to exclude the option of having auto target as well as manual target, I just don't see anything good about this. And a situation like yours happened to me, too. So, just this issue for itself drops SvR down some levels, and the worst thing is, it was really not necessary, just a stupid mistake they made, and now they are too arrogant to switch it back.

Or, wait, here's a thought. Remember in 2k6, when you could create entrances for the 1st time? If the wrestler using an entrance won a title, it was no problem with the belts being visible during the custom entrances. BUT one year later, someone probably got drunk and messed some program code for the game up, since titlebelts vanished in certain entrance motions. This lead up to 2k8, when they obviously had to decide to select a generic title entrance, just because of the stupid mistake/bug, they created one year before. So, you take your time, create a nice entrance, but as soon as you win gold, you'll only see one of the original entrances. I wonder what went bad between 2k6 and 2k7 to cause that.

About the topic before, the target issue. Something obviously happened there, too. Dunno what exactly, but maybe they were forced to take out manual target because Cory(or anyone) got drunk and played with the source codes of the game again

In any event, there MUST be a reason for some of those issues, they can't just be dumb, can they?

BTW, I just played a Hardcore Match with Jeff Hardy(me) vs Umaga. And I saw another counter, I hadn't seen before. Hardy set up the chair for the Sabu-type Moonsault, but when he leaped over Umaga, the Samoan Wisecracker tripped him and Hardy landed facefirst on the chair. At least that looked nice and was unexpected

yea, SvR's focusing should be on Unsolved Mysteries or something. it's so bizarre.

back to a good thing about SvR'08, I had a nice WWE title match. champion, Sabu(me) vs John Cena.

one thing that stood out to me was, I completely forgot that Cena's a powerhouse. so early in the match I go for a top rope flying hurricaranna, but that bastard caught me! but I wiggled out of it and dropped him with facebuster! THAT was very cool. keep in mind, I'm playing with no HUDs. I'm just going by the sounds, assuming how good or bad of shape I'm in and assuming how good or bad of shape he's in. again, this was another counter fest, and I wasn't really sure who'd have the lead if there were judges. we both were countering finishers and slumped over holding our stomachs. I tried to end it, but he caught me with the FU and I'm out. 1-2-3. tough loss, but it is what it is.

the next title match was the champ, Cena vs Jeff Hardy. I plan to get revenge on Cena through Hardy for taking the title from Sabu.

it was a nice fight. another counter fest. we were probably equally beaten up. at the end I'm sure he could have put me away if I hadn't countered the FU and STFU attempts. I knew I couldn't allow him to even get a full bar because he catches me off gaurd this his finishers sometimes. fortunately, he never got another full bar, and as soon as I bulldoged him into the mat and he turned over holding his face, I happen to regain another full bar. yes, I was very happy to finally put him away with my 2nd Swanton Bomb! KO victory!

heh, yea, I really appreciate how well Sabu was done. I haven't played as him much before but it was funny that during Sabu's victory he ran off the ref, LOL.

we probably won't see Sabu again, but he was done very nicely in SvR'08, Lashley too. those are reasons I may keep this game.

Same here. The more I played as Sabu and discovered what all he could do, I was amazed at how well he was done. Probably my favorite character to use in the game, especially under extreme rules. I have to admit to letting loose an evil grin any time I crack someone between the eyes with a cane, or hitting the "real" White Russian Legsweep while using Sandman too.

Yeah...Sabu was done really well last year, and I think nobody ever said, SvR was completely useless in EVERY aspect. Sometimes I still ask myself, why they pull off some good things while doing stupid things right next to it.

I put SvR'08 down for a while, but I just picked it back up, played it, and had another nice match. I thought I might share.

I touched up Sabu just for the hell of it. I made his Clutch a normal ground grapple so I could give him some nice finishers I thought would go well for him. I gave him that running grapple DDT for a finisher. I think it's DDT3 where you run and he'll twirl around for a minute and come down with a nice DDT. for the other finisher I gave him that top rope hurricaranna that looks as if you kinds spiked the opp on their head. I thought those were nice finishers for him.

then I went into a match to whoop on Shane just 'cause I really do not like him in this game. I'm not quite sure why, but I just really don't like him that much.

I was whooping the shit outta Shane. I was all over the place. Springboard Tornado DDT. Springboard Leg Drop. I really like that Springboard Tornado DDT though. Shane countered and sidestepped me a few times, but not once was he able to maintain a good offense. I kept countering him. but he caught me wit' his little shitty Shane Shuffle finisher a couple of times, but I got up like nothing happened, because he hasn't really touched me much. then I noticed he was slouching. LOL, it was just funny to me that I didn't realize how bad I was whooping on him until I noticed that. I decided to put him out of his misery in Sabu fashion. I put him down with another Springboard Tornado DDT. he seemed to have laned in a great position for me to hit a certain leg drop off the top... I went up the turnbuckle. heh, I forgot I gave Sabu the Houston Hangover! I thought that move suited Sabu VERY well. so when I hit the Houston Hangover perfectly smashed into Shane's face, he starts bleeding! that's very good timing, because then I put him away with the Clutch, making him tap with a bloody face.

it was a very nice finish, I must say. I wish I had a video of it. Springboard Tornado DDT/bloodied Houston Hangover/Camel Clutch submission finish.
